


The Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) (RQF/NVQ Equivalent) is designed for experienced residential childcare professionals who are ready to progress into leadership and management roles. Upon successful completion of the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (RQF / NVQ Equivalent), learners will be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to progress into senior leadership roles within residential childcare settings.

To register on to this qualification, learners are required to meet the following entry requirement:
• Be working as a manager (paid/voluntary) in a suitable role (as outlined above) within the residential childcare sector.
• Be 19+ years of age
It is advised that learners have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
Additionally, it is recommended that learners are able to demonstrate prior achievement of qualifications at a minimum of Level 3 in a related area. It is recommended that learners will have completed a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.


To achieve the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (RQF) learners must achieve a minimum of 65 credits overall. 57 credits must be achieved from the 15 mandatory units. Learners must also complete a minimum of 2 units from the optional units to achieve a minimum of 8 credits.
This qualification is assessed through completion of a portfolio of evidence which will be assessed and internally quality assured by the centre. To achieve a ‘pass’ for a unit, learners must provide evidence to demonstrate that they have fulfilled all the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all assessment criteria.
