At KIB Healthcare Training Ltd, the safety and wellbeing of our learners and staff matter to us. We want everyone learning or working with KIB Training to feel safe, respected, supported and able to speak openly if something is wrong. We understand that people can experience difficult situations in their personal life, workplace or studies, and nobody should feel that they have to deal with these concerns alone.Safeguarding means protecting people from abuse, neglect, exploitation and other forms of harm.
Concerns may include: Physical, emotional, sexual or financial abuse. Neglect or self-neglect. Bullying, harassment or discrimination. Domestic abuse. Online abuse, grooming or exploitation. Modern slavery or criminal exploitation. Radicalisation or extremist influence. Mental health difficulties, self-harm or thoughts of suicide.
Supporting Learner Wellbeing
We understand that life does not always go to plan. Personal problems, poor mental or physical health, financial worries, family responsibilities and difficulties at work can all affect a learner’s wellbeing and progress. If you are struggling, we encourage you to speak to your tutor, assessor or our Designated Safeguarding Lead. We will listen without judging you, discuss the support you may need and, where appropriate, help you find a specialist organisation that can provide further assistance. Asking for help will not negatively affect your qualification or the way you are treated by KIB Training. Although we will do our best to support you, KIB Training is not an emergency, medical or counselling service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999.
Telling Us About a Concern
If you are worried about yourself or someone else, please tell us as soon as possible. You do not need to be certain that abuse or harm has taken place. It is better to share a genuine concern than to remain silent.

We will listen carefully, take your concern seriously and explain what will happen next. We will treat the information sensitively and only share it with people who need to know. However, we cannot promise to keep information completely confidential if we believe that you or another person may be at risk of harm. In these circumstances, we may need to contact the police, emergency services, local authority safeguarding team or another relevant organisation. Where it is safe and appropriate, we will explain this to you before sharing the information.
Our Staff Responsibilities
Everyone working for KIB Training has a responsibility to help keep learners safe. Our staff are expected to: Treat every safeguarding concern seriously. Listen calmly and without judgement. Avoid making promises they cannot keep. Record concerns clearly and accurately. Report concerns promptly to the Designated Safeguarding Lead. Respect confidentiality and professional boundaries. Complete appropriate safeguarding and Prevent training. The Designated Safeguarding Lead will review each concern, consider the level of risk and decide what action is needed to help keep the individual safe.
Reviewing This Policy.
We will review this policy every year. We may review it sooner if there is a safeguarding incident, a significant change within KIB Training or an update to relevant legislation or guidance.
